The Indiana Football Hall of Fame gives five -$1000.00 Scholarships each year, one to 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A classes.

Matt Vianco is a graduate of Pioneer. His parents are Tracy and Marsha Vianco. Matt was coached by Mike D. Johnson. Matt was a leader on the football team by working extremely hard and being very committed to his training regiment. Matt even played with a broken leg and managed to endure tremendous pain while rushing over 100 yard. He was elected MVP by the team. Matt was a member of the National Honor Society. He was a member of the Rotary Club and the French Club. Matt received the IFHF Charles McConnell Scholarship. Matt was All Mid Western Conference, All Loganland, All-State and Region 4 All State. He lettered 4 times in football and played RB/OB/LB, and has letters in 4 other sports. Matt plans to attend Indiana University. He plans to pursuit a career in Medicine.

Brandon Wells is a graduate of Woodlan. His parents are Brent and Karen Wells. Brandon was coached by Barry Ehle. Brandon was a very good leader by example. Brandon’s strength are his competitiveness, pride, and leadership. He was willing to do what it takes to help his team to succeed. Brandon was an honor student in all subjects and was on the Honor Roll. He had a perfect attendance. Brandon was a member of he National Honor Society. Brandon was the Salutatorian for the class of 2006. Brandon received the IFHF Charles McConnell Scholarship. He was 14X Woodlan Scholar Honor Recipient, 12X Student of the Month, 4X recipient of Academic Top Ten Award, an Indiana Hoosier Scholar, and United States President’s Academic Excellence Award. Brandon was All Conference, Region 3 All-Star, and IFCA All State. He was captain of his team. Brandon played quarterback on offense and FS on defense. He also punted and handled our kicking duties. Brandon was ACAC Academic All-Conference in 2003, 2004, and 2005. He was team Offensive Back of the year, on the All Northeast Indiana team, Indianapolis Colts Academic All Star, IFCA District 3 All Star Free Safety, and IFCA Class All State Team. Brandon plans to attend Manchester College. He plans to become an Orthopedic Surgeon. |

Andrew Mcleish is a graduate of Thomas Carr Howe. His parents are Gerald and Karen He was coached by Kevin Huthcen. Andrew was Valedictorian of his class. He was Captain of the Academic Super Bowl in fields of math and social studies and State Finalist in the Academic Super Bowl in 2003 and 2005. He was Captain of the Brain Game, President of the Speech and Debate Team, and a Hoosier Boy’s State Representative. Andrew was “Catch the Star Foundation” scholarship recipient for the top IPS student athlete. Andrew received Indianapolis Kiwanis Club Overall Scholastic MVP, National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athletic Team, Indiana Football Coaches Association Valedictorian Award, Academic All State Football team in Region 7, Recipient of the Kehoe scholarship given by Hibernians. and the IFHF Charles McConnell Scholarship. Andrew was a 4 year team Captain playing Quarterback, linebacker and punter. He was 2nd team All-Conference in 2004 and 2005 and Honorable Mention All-State in 2004. Andrew was named top Student-Athlete for Class 3A by IFCA. He is attending DePauw U. He plans to pursuit a career in Biomedical Engineering.

Joseph Vonmorhr is a graduate of Jay County Schools. His Parents are Frank and Marcie Vohmohr. He was coached by Shane Hill. Joseph was Who’s Who Among American High Schools as a Student and Athlete. He was on the First Bank Advisory Board, and Wendy’s High School Heisman Nominee. Joseph was Class Treasure and member of the Student Council all four years He was a member of the Friendship Company Swing Choir and French Club. Joseph had a GPA of 4.01 and ranked #1 in a class of 224. He received the Bausch and Lomb Science Award, Academic Achievement Award winner, Indianapolis Colts Academic All-Star and the IFHF Charles McConnell Scholarship. He was a member of the National Honor Society for 2 years and President of the organization his senior year. Joseph was a 3 year starter on the football team at offensive guard. He helped his team to rush for a total of 6253 yard, 2132 yards passing and 89 TD during his career. Joseph helped 3 different running backs to rush for over 1000 yards. He was team captain in 2005, All-Conference 1st team, 2005 Herald-Times Big State HM, 2005 AP All-State HM, and 2005 Academic All-State. He plans to attend Hanover to pursuit a career in Medicine |

Tim Handlon is a graduate of Valparaiso. His parents are Mike and Charlann Handlon. He was coached by Mark Hoffman. Tim was a three year member of the Student Council and a Class Representative for 2 years He was a Team Captain, a member of the National Honor Society, and a Cass Middle School Mentor. Tim was on the Indiana North-South All Star Team in 2006. He was a Hoosier Boys State Nominee and received Valparaiso High School Athletic Academic Award 2006. Tim ranks 7th of a class of 504. He received the National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete, IFCA First Team All-State Academic 1st team, Kelly Gott Mental Attitude Award, Curt Hoffman Academic Award, Kellen Mogck Memorial Scholarship 20006 and the IFHF Charles McConnell Scholarship. Tim was in 2005 the MVP, Most Valuable Defensive Player, Captain Award winner, Most valuable Linebacker, Special Mention All-State Linebacker and First team Duneland Conference Linebacker. He was Times First team All-Area Defensive player, Tribute First team All-Area Defensive player, Indiana Red Zone Player of the Year and IFCA 1st Team All-Defense player. Tim was also IFCA Top 50 player, AP First team All-State Defense and Nike Football Camp Participant. Tim plans to attend Yale to pursuit a career in Economics. |
