High School Honors:  Led team as quarterback and captain to perfect 10-0 record 1969; #3 State ranking defeating perennial and undefeated state power Richmond 1969; NIVC All-Conference 1968 and 1969; All-State by Coaches and Sportswriters; All-American by Parade Magazine; Team MVP 1969; Co-MVP 1970 North-South All-Star Game; led North over South by establishing a touchdown-passing record; in basketball, team was LaVille Sectional Champion 1969; Catholic Diocesan Basketball All-Star 1969 and team captain 1970; in baseball, team was Elkhart Sectional Champion 1970; All-Sectional Baseball Team member 1970; member of National Honor Society 1969-1970 and Student Council 1968-1969; recruited by over 150 colleges. 

College Attended:  University of Notre Dame Graduated:  1974

College Honors:  Football scholarship as a defensive end; Monogram Winner on 1973 National Championship Football team; had most playing time in 1973 Sugar Bowl; defeated Alabama for National Championship; played in Orange Bowl 1972; received two recognition stars on helmet for defensive achievements in 1973.

Special Recognition:  Vice-President Human Resources, International Wire Group; coached youth basketball at the grade school and junior high level.
