College Honors: Played basketball and football 4 years; played right halfback; set record in 1929 with 95 yard kick-off return for a TD.
Professional Athletic Background: Played semi-pro football with Muncie 1931.
Coaching Experience: Head football coach at Greencastle HS 3 years with 14-12 record; head coach at Washington HS 4 years with 17-16-3 record; head coach at Lafayette Jefferson HS 13 years with 88-24-7 record; also coached basketball 39 years, 3 at Greencastle, 4 at Washington, and 32 at Jefferson; retired from coaching in 1954.
Coaching Honors: Had 5 North Central Athletic Conference Championships; mythical State Champions 1950; rated number 1 in state with Jefferson; had 2 undefeated, untied seasons at Jefferson; in basketball, won 32 sectional, 21 regionals, 13 semi-states, 3 runner-up titles, and 4 state championships, 1941 and 1942 at Washington and 1948 and 1964 at Jefferson; overall basketball record of 119-52-10.
