High School Honors: 3-year starter at fullback; All-City in football 1938 and 1939; named a City Outstanding Football Performer; also earned 2 letters each in basketball and track.

College Honors: Team MVP 1945, 1947; captain 1946, 1947; Balfour Award winner 1948; American Football Coaches 2nd-Team All-American 1945; played on 1945 Big Ten Championship team; 1st-Team All-Big Ten 1947; played in Shrine East-West Game 1947 and College All-Star Game 1948.
Professional Athletic Background: Played for Detroit Lions 1948, 1949, and 1950 as defensive tackle, offensive tackle, right guard, right tackle, linebacker, and left guard.
Coaching Experience: 1951 assistant football coach at IU; 1952 assistant coach at Arizona State, winning Border Conference Chammpionship; 1954 to time of death was assistant coach at IU.
Special Recognition: Named to All-Time Indiana University Team in 1969 as leading vote getter among interior linemen.
Coach Brown passed away April 4, 1975.
