High School Honors:  All-Lake Suburban Conference Team as a linebacker 1970-1971; Hammond Times, Gary Post Tribune, UPI, and AP All-State 1970, 1971; Bloomington Herald Times All-State 1971; played in North-South All-Star Game; played in North-South Shrine All-Star Game; in wrestling - at 165 lbs., was Lake Suburban Conference and Sectional Champion, Regional finalist 1970; at 185 lbs., was LSC, Sectional, Regional, and State Champion 1971, 1972, going undefeated in 55 total matches; invited to 1972 Olympic Wrestling Freestyle tryouts; ranked 23rd nationally by National Wrestling Coaches Association 1972; recognized in Sports Illustrated Faces in the Crowd 1972.

College Attended:  University of Michigan        Graduated:  1977

College Honors:  Helped U of M to win Big Ten Conference in 1972, 1973, and 1974; record over his 4 seasons of 38-4-3; played in Orange Bowl in 1976, beating University of Oklahoma.

Special Recognition:  His jersey #75 was retired at Highland; inducted into Indiana Wrestling Hall of Fame 1988.
