Coaching Experience:  First head football coach at Auburn, IN, High School, coaching 31 seasons 1924-1954, with a record of 142-63-14; also, coached basketball at Pendleton High School 1923-1924.

Coaching Honors:  Undefeated football seasons 1941, 1946, 1947, 1954; 9 Northeast Indiana Conference Championships; 24 straight wins with no ties 1945-1948.

Outstanding Players Coached:  Vito Palumbo, All-State Guard; Bob Scott, All-State Quarterback; Clayton Myers, coach at Greenfield; Fred Bulter, USC.

Special Recognition:  Auburn's football field, after consolidation with DeKalb High School, was renamed Cecil E. Young Field; past-president of Indiana Coaches Association; charter member and past-president of Auburn Lions Club; member of Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite; member of Board of Directors of Peoples Federal Savings and Loan Association; member of DePauw's first Rector Scholarship 1973.
