College Attended:  Did not attend college; began work in Sports Department of the Indianapolis Star 1 year after high school in October, 1943.

Professional Career:  Long-time sportswriter for the Indianapolis Star.

Professional Honors:  Past-President of the Indiana Sportswriters & Sportscasters Association and Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Board of Directors; received Joe Boland Award in 1974, presented by the Sportswriters & Sportscasters each year for contributions to youth.

Special Recognition:  First Sportswriter of the Year, in 1972, named by Indiana Football Coaches Association; authored the book Hoosier Hysteria in 1997.

Mr. Williams passed away January 8, 2000.
