Coaching Experience:  Assistant football coach at Ashboro Township for 1 year, Beiger Junior High for 4 years, and Greene Township La Salle for 3 years; head coach at Green Township 1 year and North Liberty for 2 years; head coach at South Bend St. Joseph for 19 years, South Bend Riley for 2 years, and Elkhart Memorial for 10 years.

Coaching Honors:  Received the Moose Krause Chapter Hall of Fame Contributions to Football Award; 1980 State Coach of the Year; Sportswriters and Sportscasters NIC Coach of the Year in 1998; assistant coach of North-South All-Star game in 1972 and North head coach in 1998; South Bend Tribune Coach of the Year in 1998.

Outstanding Players Coached:  Gary Kulwicki, Mike McCray, David Gapinski, Matt Wills, Joe Shoen, and Mike Chrobot. 

Special Recognition:  Instrumental in starting mini clinics in Region 2 in 1973 and used his school of St. Joseph to host them.
