High School Honors:  Received 8 letters with 3 in football, 3 in basketball, and 2 in track; National Honor Society; Kiwanis Award; South Bend Tribune 1954 Northern Indiana Conference 1st Team End; 1954 All-Twin City 1st Team End; 1955 Northern Indiana Conference 1st Team Tackle; basketball team captain and Gold Award as MVP; broke Central's shot put record 1956.  

College Attended:  Purdue University          Graduated:  1961

College Honors:  3-year letter winner and 2-year starter; Noble E. Kizer Award for Athletic and Scholastic Achievement.

Professional Athletic Background:  Drafted by the New York Giants of the NFL in 1961.

Coaching Experience:  Assistant football coach and head wrestling coach at Mishawaka HS 1962-1965; at South Bend Jackson HS served as assistant football coach 8 years, head football coach 2 years, head wrestling coach 8 years, and assistant wrestling coach 2 years 1965-1975; assistant football coach and head wrestling coach at South Bend Riley 1975-1976; head football coach 11 years and assistant football coach 3 years at Elkhart Memorial 1976-1987.

Coaching Honors:  Indiana High School Football Coaches Association Region 2 Class 5A Coach of the Year 1985.

Outstanding Players Coached:  Craig Frazier, Scott Welch, Mike Gary, Art Bicknell, Ernie Jones, Mark Mills, Kevin Rems, Ross Hales.

Special Recognition:  Received the Elkhart Truth Jim Andrews Achievement Award in 1993.
