High School Honors:  Played center at 250 lbs. junior and senior years.

College Attended:  Northwestern University    

College Honors:  Air Force Contracting Officer School; received warrant to administer Air Force contracts in 1950’s.

Announcing Career:  High school public address announcer for 45 years, starting in 1935 and walking the sidelines for the first 23 years; worked in press boxes after they were installed in South Bend area high schools around 1960; his talented voice was also heard on WHOT (now WNDU) as the sign-on announcer for more than nine years in the early 1950's.

Special Recognition:  Known as “Voice of the School Field" because of his resonant voice and ability to keep up with the game and pronounce players' names correctly; member of South Bend Riley High School Booster Club, St. Joe Valley Athletic Officials Association, South Bend Adams Adult Booster Club, South Bend Community School Corporation Department of Athletic.

Family:  First wife, Letitia (deceased); second wife, Frances; children, Frank A. (deceased), James T., and Joan; grandchildren, Lisa, Denise, Mark, and Alexis.

Mr. Piechowiak passed away September 18, 2000.
