College Honors: Played quarterback and halfback; National Champions 1942 and 1943.

Professional Athletics Background: Played for Cleveland Rams 1945 (World Champions) as quarterback, halfback; played for Chicago Rockets as quarterback and kicker and was 3rd highest scorer in the league 1946; Baltimore Colts in 1947; Montreal Alouettes in 1948 (East Division Champion) as quarterback and Most Valuable Player, losing in Blue Cup play-offs.

Coaching Experience: Coached freshmen 2 years at Notre Dame under Frank Leahy; coached Michiana Hawks to Western Title.

Family: Wife, Betty; children, Kristina, Steve, Jr., and Michele.
