High School Honors:  Was football starting quarterback for 2 years; Honorable Mention All-State; baseball captain with 4 years of varsity;  basketball co-captain as a 2 year starter.

College Attended:  Eastern Michigan             Graduated:  1965

                            Western Michigan  MS                       1971

College Honors:  Started for four years in baseball but remained close to football scene in various aspects of game; president of T.K.E. Fraternity 1964.

Coaching Experience:  Assistant varsity football coach at Goshen HS and head varsity baseball coach with 5 straight sectional championships; head football coach at New Prairie HS 1971-1973; returned to Goshen HS as head varsity football coach 1974-1984.

Coaching Honors:  At New Prairie, had a record of 22-8 and two conference championships in 1972 and 1973; at Goshen HS, had a record of 82-36, with four conference championships in 1976, 1978, 1980, 1981; State Class AA Champions in 1978 and 1981, State Class AA runner-up; assistant coach of 1976 North-South All-Star game; head coach of 1979 North-South All-Star Game; Indiana Class AA Football Coach of the Year 1978-1979 and 3-time Regional Coach of the Year.

Special Recognition:  Member of Elkhart County Sports Hall of Fame; member of Indiana Football Coaches Association; IFCA Regional Director 1976; member of Industrial Education Association; UP International Selection Committee for Football; member of Indiana Football Hall of Fame nomination committee; Officials Association where he refereed the 1979 Wrestling State Finals.
