High School Honors:  Earned six varsity letters - 2 in football, 3 in wrestling, and 1 in baseball; All-Conference N.I.C. 1955-1956; 4th in State in wrestling as a senior; member of the State Championship team.

College Attended:  Ball State University        Graduated:  1960

College Honors:  Three-year starter as guard and linebacker; All-ICC 1958 and 1959; MVP and captain as senior, winning the John Magnabosco Award; All-ICC as a wrestler for 2 years; 2nd runner up in Small College Division as senior; captain and MVP senior year; named to top 25 National Scholars as a senior.

Coaching Experience:  Coached football in various assistant capacities with South Bend Washington HS 1962-1973; associated with two state championships in 1969 and 1973.

Special Recognition:  Served as principal of South Bend Washington 1974-1980; principal of South Bend Clay High School 1980-1985; principal of Elkhart Central High School 1985-1987.
