High School Honors:  Lettered in football 3 years, baseball 3 years, and basketball 2 years; Quarterback Club All-City (only junior on 1944 team); 1945 Quarterback Club All-City; 1945 Evansville Courier & Press All-City Team; All-State Team AP and UPI.

College Attended:  Purdue University           Graduated:  1950

College Honors:  Full football scholarship; member of Honorary Activity Gimlet Club; member of PHI KAPPA TAU Fraternity; 2 major letters in football (at 168 lbs. played offense and defense).

Professional Athletic Background: 1 year with the Indianapolis Tryons as a player and coach; scout for Houston Oilers.

Coaching Experience:  Coached at Beech Grove HS as head coach 1 year; athletic director and head coach at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX, for 4 years; assistant basketball, head wrestling, and head football coach for 6 years at Brazil HS; head football coach for 15 years, head swimming coach 1 year, and assistant baseball coach 8 years at Lafayette Jefferson.

Coaching Honors:  As head football coach, record of 131-76-2; 2 undefeated, untied seasons with 1 at Brazil and 1 at Lafayette Jeff; Western Indiana Conference Champions for 2 years; North Central Conference Championship in 1966; North Central Conference Coach of the Year 1966; recommended for Indiana Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year.

Outstanding Players Coached:  Tom Grissom, Dick Lester, Bruce Gunstra, John Scheumann, Tom Grayson, Tom Kent, Stan Schreckengast, Jim Kykhuizen.

Special Recognition:  Indiana Football Coaches representative for District 2; nine former players are now coaches themselves.
