High School Honors: Captain of mythical state championship team 1936; 2nd Team All-Conference fullback 1935; 1st Team All-Conference and 3rd Team All-State fullback 1936.

College Attended: Indiana University              Graduated: 1942

College Honors: 3-year varsity starter at quarterback and fullback; selected to College All-Star Team in Chicago that played Chicago Bears.

Professional Athletic Background: Drafted by Philadelphia Eagles and had offers to try out for Cleveland Browns and Chicago Cardinals but due to a knee injury was unable to play for a pro team.

Coaching Experience: Head football coach at Gary Tolleston 1943-1950, with record of 28-43-4; assistant coach at Gary Mann 1950-1960; head coach at Gary Wallace 1960-1967, with record of 47-13-2.

Outstanding Players Coached: Jerry Shay, Purdue University All-American; Dave Shelbourne, Northwestern University; Don Gatch, All-State and Purdue University; Bob Bele, All-State and Wyoming University.

Special Recognition: Officiated football 20 years in Big Ten Conference; officiated two Rose Bowls and an Orange Bowl game; after retiring as an official, remained active in Big Ten as an observer of officials.

Family: First Wife, Dorothy (deceased); second wife, Mary (deceased); children (with Dorothy), Judy (deceased), Tom (Linda), and Tim (Ronda); grandchildren, David and Lisa (Tom's), and Erik, Jennifer, and Doug (Tim's).
