High School Attended:  Lafayette Jefferson  Graduated:  1922

High School Honors:  Varsity football captain of Jefferson's first football team; also played basketball.

College Attended:  University of Notre Dame Graduated: 1925
                            Butler University                     1927-1928

College Honors:  Varsity football 1923-1925; also lettered in basketball; member of 1924 National Champions.

Professional Athletic Background:  Played semi–pro football with Kokomo American Legion team 1927-1928.

Coaching Experience:  Head football coach at Cathedral HS, Indianapolis, 1928-1938, winning state football title in 1931; head football coach at St. Joseph College 1938-1943, winning ICC Football Championships 1941, 1942; varsity football line coach at Purdue University 1943-1946; also coached basketball and baseball.

Coaching Honors:  City Champions 4 times in 10 years while at Cathedral; undefeated in 21 games at St. Joseph College; Purdue went undefeated, untied and became Big 10 and National Champions 1943.

Special Recognition:  Officiated high school and college football games; assistant director of athletics to Red Mackey until Red Mackey’s death in 1971; Athletic Ticket Manager at Purdue 1960-1971; inducted into Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame 1971 and St. Joseph's College Sports Hall of Fame 1972; served as mayor of West Lafayette, IN, after leaving Purdue.

Coach Dienhart passed away December 8, 1987.
