Coaching Honors: Gary Old Timers Leadership Award; Hammond Times Coach of the Year; Calumet Officials Association Service Award; won 6 conference championships; won 4 years out of 7 in last Calumet Conference which was divided into divisions; won division championships; had 2 undefeated teams (1949, 1964); 5 teams were 9-1; had more than 50 victories over the next winningest coach at the time of his retirement in 1974; won 18 straight games 1963-1965 and 15 straight 1948-1950.
